Flathead Catfish have exceptional eyesight and use this as an advantage against there prey. A flathead can see much better than most baitfish. The lateral line on a flathead can pick up the sounds and vibrations of a struggling baitfish from a good distance away. Flatheads have barbels just like any other catfish and can taste a bait from several feet away
